There’s a special way to get to know Illasi: leave your car behind, put on a pair of comfortable shoes or hop on your bike, and set off to explore its trails. Amidst vineyards, olive groves, hills and ancient villages, the Val d’Illasi region offers routes that combine physical activity, scenery and culture, providing an authentic experience in every season.

One of the most popular routes is the Sentiero degli Olivi, a circular route of around 9 kilometres, designed for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The route starts at the Giardino Musicale in Illasi and winds its way along dirt tracks and hillside paths, alternating between stretches surrounded by nature and vantage points from which the view sweeps across the entire Val d’Illasi. Among the most picturesque stops are Poggio Belvedere, the little church of San Marco, the Sanctuary of San Colombano and numerous views through vineyards and olive groves that embody the agricultural heart of this area.

For those wishing to choose the length of their route, the area also offers the Corrillasi, a permanent trail divided into three sections of approximately 6, 12 and 21 kilometres, accessible all year round. The paths are well signposted and allow you to explore places of historical, natural and scenic interest, catering for everyone from those seeking a gentle stroll to more experienced walkers.

Walking along these routes, you’ll discover a constantly changing landscape: ancient rural farmsteads, rows of vines, centuries-old olive trees, small woods and views opening out onto the neighbouring valleys. Every climb is rewarded with vistas that showcase the beauty of the Val d’Illasi, an area that still maintains a strong connection with its agricultural history and local traditions.
